This design was created for the Cambodian Cultural Center in Lexington, NC. Metropolis Architecture and Shoaf Architect developed design drawings for a capital campaign to build the new temple on the site of the existing Cambodian Cultural Center. MA worked closely with building committee and resident Monk to interpret and define the architectural traditions embodied in traditional Cambodian Buddhist Temple designs.

MA and SA coordinated the building committee’s efforts with local zoning and building inspections to address particular site issues including parking, and site utilities.  MA and SA also worked with local building officials to reach acceptable solutions with Cambodian customs and accessibility requirements.
