The planetarium is a part of the Frank Family Science Center and it includes 140 seats for students. It was the first networked and web ready classroom on the Guilford College campus The planetarium includes a suspended and inclined 50’ diameter dome for contemporary digital projection systems The planetarium includes a control room for monitoring light, sound, and the projection system In addition to classes, the planetarium is used as a recital hall for a variety of venues including dance and music.
